2024/25 - #9 Hike around Tegueste

January and February can get a bit chilly here in Tegueste.  The second week of February, night time lows dropped to 10°C, although by mid-afternoon they usually creep up to around 17°C.

I prefer to leave the biking for warmer weather, doing little daily hikes instead.  This particular hike – or variations thereof – is a little over 5km, but with a decent amount of climbing.

The short bit of narrow trail on the north side of the Barranco Aguas de Dios – a deep ravine – is quite popular, with hikers or joggers often seen going in either direction  - I prefer clockwise.

It is also used by locals walking their dogs.

This offers interesting views of Tegueste and hills to the south, as well as a collection of large trees in the ravine itself, where more water may be available occasionally to sustain them.
