2024 - #2 Trip to Bouillante

Huge iguana spotted on the sidewalk during my early morning bike ride.  It was just across the street from some garbage containers, with some rubbish strewn around on that side.  Apparently, they play a similar role to racoons in Canada.  I had no idea there was any large wildlife here.  It was green and gray, with wide stripes, and was a good 5 feet long, tail included.

Going shopping with my host to Bouillante, about 9 kms south, over a very hilly, narrow road - the main road on this side of the Island.  There was a lot of traffic.

It is very hot and humid during the day.

I bought a big tube of sunscreen, but have not used any of it.  I do all my bike rides before breakfast, before the sun comes out from behind the hills.  Luckily. I picked a place on the west side of the hills.

Sunset and sunrise in Pointe Noir.  Some rain overnight, so the roads are wet.  Very little traffic on weekend mornings, so that is nice.  There are flowers, humming birds and white egrets everywhere

Finally decided to charge up the battery in my little Go-Pro, hence the photos.  There was a humming bird flitting around in the field of view, but it was not posing, like the bigger guy.
