#1 First Stop - Town of Sooke

This was the year of the COVID-19 virus.  I decided to spend the first six weeks on Vancouver Island, and then fly to the Canary Islands.  I was going to go to Argentina – San Martin de Los Andes –  instead, this will be my second trip to British Columbia, and my fourth trip to the Canary Islands.

My old Polaris box was starting to fall to pieces, after about 15 years of use, so I bought a Scicon Aerotech Evolution X TSA Bike Case for a greatly reduced price this summer.

The bike box is pretty much identical in size to my old Polaris box, but the Scicon is a true rigid box, where the Polaris is semi-rigid, allowing some wall deflection, especially in the middle  Also, the Scicon has wheels front and back, where the Polaris only had wheels in the back.

I flew out to B. C. on October 15th, and stayed at Airbnb Sweet Suite – West Coast at Sooke for the first six weeks.

Last year, I stayed in the town of Langford, about a half hour drive away.  This year, the Town of Sooke, because it makes the western end of the Galloping Goose Trail readily accessible.
