Friday, March 2nd – Holland America gave
us an included breakfast at the Brick Hotel – there were maybe 80 cruisers in a
big dining room, with plenty to eat.
Then we took a taxi to the Colom Opera House, and
went for an English speaking tour ($15).
The Opera House was magnificent – there were about 20 people on the
tour, and the tour was full.
Then walked for lunch to the restaurant Zum Edelrweiss - I had sausages with
sauerkraut with a beer and a flan for dessert ($25).
We took a taxi back to the Hotel, rested, and then
walked to the Cemetery (6 blocks) to see where Eva Perrone was buried in the Duarte
family tomb. The Cemetery is a history
lesson, and very enjoyable to walk through.
Don’t go too late to the Cemetery, because it closes early.
For dinner tonight, we decided to eat at the Brick
Hotel. I had mixed greens, pork
tenderloin stuffed with plums and mashed sweet potato, with a coke. Apple crumble for dessert - a very good
dinner.
