Friday, Sept 14 – We skipped breakfast
this morning, and went to Chihuly Garden and Glass. As this was under the Space Needle, walked
for 2 blocks, and then through Seattle Centre – a very enjoyable walk.
Very scenic at Chihuly ($22) – these photos are from the garden, but
you will be impressed with what is inside.
We spent about two hours here.
Then walked to the hotel and stopped at
Mecca Grill and Bar – there is a restaurant and a bar here, but don’t go at
lunch – we were there a little before, but fills fast. I had a Rueben sandwich with potato salad
(excellent) and iced tea ($15). This Diner will kind of remind you of diners
in your home town.
At 2 pm, we walked back to Seattle
Central to the Imax theatre, and saw the movie Predators. Then back to the hotel for a rest.
At 7 pm, we went to Toulouse Petite
Kitchen Lounge – about two blocks away.
I had French onion soup, pasta with lamb, and toffee banana pie ($42). A very popular spot…..
