On Wednesday, October 11th, Holland America docked at Hakodate. We took the free shuttle to their Morning
Market – once we got off the shuttle, there was lots of Japanese schoolgirls
standing around, and one of them brought us to the Market.
Lots of fish - alive and dead - fruit, vegetables,
candy and flowers. Note the different levels of sinks at the Food Court.
It was raining so heavy that we came back to the
ship after a couple of hours.
That evening, we went to the Cellarmasters Dinner at
the Pinnacle ($79). Each course was
served with accompanying wine. I had
froi gras/caviar/with a poached egg, lobster and shrimp salad, and mushroom soup with chicken balls.
Then a filet mignon served with potatoes and onion rings, and for dessert, a chocolate pot and then cheese, with a double espresso – a delicious dinner.
