Vancouver to Japan cruise/Trafalgar tour -#8 - September 26 to October 23/2017...
On Thursday, as we were leaving the ship early the
next morning for our Trafalgar tour, I spent the day packing.
On Friday, October 13th, Holland America
docked at Yokohama Harbor, and we had about an hours wait in the Departure
Lounge. Travelbound had a smaller bus,
but just about full when we left for Tokyo - this took about 2 1/2 hours - as
we dropped off other people first. A
very good look around Tokyo…
We stayed at the New Otani Hotel - Wow – very impressive……
At Reception, we had two days with Travelbound and
three days with Trafalgar, but all the Trafalgar guests stay in the Tower, so Reception
combined them together, and we then had 5 days to see Tokyo.
We went for lunch in their Garden Lounge restaurant. The waiters sit you besides a big window and
you look out over a Japanese Gardens. Quite expensive - we split a clubhouse
sandwich with fries - (cup of coffee $13.50) but well worth it to see the view.
It was raining out (as it had been all day) so we
had dinner in the basement of the Hotel - The TomCat. I had
a pizza and two beer ($30).
