On October 2nd and 3rd, we
were supposed to have two sea days, and then dock on the third day in Dutch
Harbor. However, the Ship ran into storms, and the
Captain decided to cancel Dutch Harbor, and sail across to Japan.
The Captain gave everyone a free glass of champagne for missing the Port - we were disappointed to miss Dutch Harbor, but you cannot fight the weather.

We then had seven sea days crossing the Pacific
- the ocean was very rough, especially noticeable during the night. The
Ship crossed the International Date Line, so we lost October 7th.
For the first dinner at the Pinnacle Grill, I had lobster bisque, Caesar salad, lamb chops (very good ) baked Alaska and red wine. For the second dinner, Caesar salad, jumbo shrimp cocktail, filet mignon with potatoes and fried mushrooms, raspberry cheesecake and red wine.
There is lots to do on the Ship - America Test Kitchen offers cooking classes, movies are held every day, some shopping, plus the Casino.
In the Amphitheatre, there was a lecture on behavior in Japan – for example, no tipping in Japan.

On the seven sea days, I ate dinner at
Canaletto once, and the Pinnacle Grill twice. The Pinnacle Grill was $35,
but as a 4th Star Mariner, my costs were $17.50.
