Jaro and his bike are in Cape Verde #4 (early February/2019).....

First bike ride: Tarrafal – Praia Branca – Ribeira da Prata.   

Road passes along the coast of Sao Nicolau’s north-western end.  Total distance out-and-back is 46km, with some fairly steep climbs near Ribeira da Prata.

 

Cobblestones all the way, with some sections better (more recent) than others.  Next ride will be on the nice asphalt road, for a change.

The Compass Barlow Pass 38mm tires worked like a charm, at about 38psi.

That is why I got the new bike, with large tires that run at low pressure.  Also, a flexy seat post.
Even so, after 46 km, the old butt is a bit sore.  There is something amazing going down a cobble road at 50 or 60kph, without getting thrown off the bike.
