On Friday, Aug 31st, we took
a cab to Old Town ($20) and went for breakfast in the Living Room Café. We sat outside – a perfect place to eat.
We then toured the Old Town State Park –
free of charge, and very interesting.
Lots of tourists, but not jam packed.
We went for a root beer float about half way through.
The Park was quite small, but well laid
out with older businesses, a large hacienda, the Cosmopolitan Hotel (not
renting rooms but with fine dining) and a livery.
We spent 5 hours here, including having
a very good lunch at the Coyote Café ($20).
I had a large margarita and chicken
tacos, and there was a Candy store next door.
We took a cab back, and rested at the
hotel.
That night, we went to the Padres
ballgame – right besides the hotel. The tickets were $79.50 and were situated
between First and Home Plate, a little bit behind the dug out. The Padres were
playing the Colorado Rockies and won 6-0.
For dinner, pizza at the ballgame.
